VERO BEACH – Kata is a Japanese and Thai restaurant in Vero Beach that offers an incredible menu for lunch or dinner at a great price.
Located on 20th Street in Downtown Vero Beach, Kata is at the center of the business district across from the Post Office. Their menu is similar to the one at Wasabi Sebastian with all the Japanese and Thai favorites. The sushi is made fresh to order.
Lunch is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and reopens at 4:00 p.m. for dinner. The average price for a meal with salad is about $9.
You have to try their homemade salad that comes topped with an authentic ginger dressing. It is one of the reasons we keep going back to this place.
We visited the restaurant five times during a 1-month span and the salad has always been made fresh and crisp. That says a lot because some restaurants are either hit or miss when it comes to the food.
They are very consistent with their food without missing a beat. Their egg rolls are crunchy and fresh, as well as the carrots that go onto their salad.
There is a lounge area when you first walk in that can serve as a meeting place or to relax and enjoy a cocktail. It’s a great setting to socialize or to take a date.
Try the cashew nut with chicken and rice, or the chicken and rice. For sushi, try their tuna rolls.
If visiting for lunch, make sure you order from the Thai lunch selection inside the menu. We made the mistake once by ordering a dinner portion, which was a little more in price.
The service at Kata in Vero Beach is also fast and courteous. We highly recommend this restaurant for lunch and dinner. Enjoy!
