SEBASTIAN – There are seven restaurants in Sebastian that are delinquent with the State of Florida as of Tuesday, April 2, 2019. They are listed as “delinquent” with the department that conducts food & restaurant inspections.

“You may not practice with a ‘delinquent/active’ license until your license has been renewed and status has been updated,” according to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (Florida DBPR).

They are as follows:

The Sandwich Shack and Grill recently changed ownership, so that might be why they haven’t renewed yet. They are probably applying for a new license.

The restaurants had until March 31, 2019, to renew their licenses. The licenses for the restaurants officially showed expired on April 1, 2019, with the state.

Now, being a couple of days late might not be a big deal for most people, but the Florida DBPR says it shouldn’t be something overlooked.

There is no grace period for restaurants to renew their license, according to the Florida DBPR.

We spoke with one restaurant owner who said they probably forgot to send in their annual renewal.
