Sebastian Volunteers needed for Special Olympics of Indian River County

SEBASTIAN – The Indian River County Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to help out during the Special Olympics Area 10 Swim Meet in Sebastian for Saturday, August 18th from 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

They are looking for 60 volunteers who can help with timing, staging athletes, and awards. Anyone interested in being a volunteer for this Special Olympics event should call the North County Aquatic Center at (772) 581-7665.

Additionally, please save the date for the State Special Olympics Aquatic Championship on October 6 & 7, 2018.

The Special Olympics of Indian River County currently offers 11 sports to adults and children 8-years-old and older who have developmental and intellectual disabilities.

The county serves 178 special needs athletes. Each year forty-six people from our community volunteer.
