Coronavirus Update: Indian River County now has 62 cases

Earlier this morning the Brevard County Health officials confirmed 1 COVID-19 case in Barefoot Bay.

The number of cases in Florida went back up Monday to 1,200. We were hoping to see another decrease, but health officials already told us that cases will continue to rise. Florida cases peaked last Thursday and Friday at 1,300 for each day.

Local:

  • Sebastian: 4 cases
  • Fellsmere: 1 case
  • Malabar: 1 case
  • Grant-Valkaria: 1 case
  • Barefoot Bay: 1 case
  • Micco: 0 cases
  • Vero Beach: 46 cases

There are 62 cases in Indian River County, Florida. The patients are 37 men and 25 women between the ages of 8 to 84.

Indian River County

  • Cases: 62 (6 non-residents)
  • Deaths: 0
  • Tested Negative: 703
  • Hospitalizations: 15

Florida

The total number of cases, deaths, and people who have recovered from the virus in the United States.

  • Cases: 14,504 (439 non-Florida residents)
  • Deaths: 283
  • Tested Negative: 122,792
  • Hospitalizations: 1,777

Here’s some data on the number of new cases per day in Florida:

  • 3/24 – 286 cases
  • 3/25 – 504 cases
  • 3/26 – 546 cases
  • 3/27 – 678 cases
  • 3/28 – 737 cases
  • 3/29 – 903 cases
  • 3/30 – 875 cases
  • 3/31 – 938 cases
  • 4/1 – 1,100 cases
  • 4/2 – 1,300 cases
  • 4/3 – 1,300 cases
  • 4/4 – 1,200 cases
  • 4/5 – 791 cases
  • 4/6 – 1,200 cases

So far, the new cases in Florida peaked on Thursday and Friday.

United States

  • Recoveries: 19,972

Global

The total number of cases, deaths, and people who have recovered from the virus around the world.

Sebastian

All County-operated playgrounds, along with those operated by the cities of Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Fellsmere, will be closed until further notice. However, all parks and conservation areas will remain open, as well as restroom facilities located at those parks and conservation areas.

Cleveland Clinic, Indian River Hospital, is providing drive-through testing by appointments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. To make an appointment, call the hospital at 772-226-4846.

For now, if you are 65 or older, or have an illness or chronic condition, please stay home.

If you need need groceries or other items delivered to your home, call Blue River Delivery at 772-643-6880.
