Earlier this morning, the Sebastian Police Department was called to a home near Barber Street about a possible vehicle burglary in progress.

“After a thorough search on scene and in the immediate area, it was determined to be unfounded,” Lt. Timothy Wood told Sebastian Daily.

However, there has been an increase in vehicle burglaries in Sebastian and police are asking residents to lock their vehicles at night.

“We have been seeing an increase in vehicle burglaries and continue to ask residents to lock up their vehicles at night. If you see someone suspicious around your property or in your neighborhood, do not confront them and immediately contact the Police Department,” Wood said.
