VERO BEACH — The United Way of Indian River County will mark four decades of community support with its 40th Annual Citrus Golf Tournament on Monday, May 18, at Vero Beach Country Club.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Golfers will play 18 holes, enjoy on-course games, a breakfast and a post-tournament awards luncheon. Raffle prizes will be available throughout the day.
The event has grown into the organization’s signature fundraiser over 40 years. Money raised helps fund programs in health, education and financial stability that assist families across Indian River County.
“This 40th anniversary is a testament to the enduring generosity and spirit of our community,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way. “What started as a local golf outing has grown into a powerful tradition that brings people together year after year to make a lasting difference. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone and grateful to everyone who has helped make it possible.”
Teams of four can register now for $800 at the United Way website. Business sponsorships are also available. Early sign-up is encouraged because spots fill quickly.
Gold sponsors include the Bernard A. Egan Foundation, The Hill Group, Publix Super Markets and Soprema.
People who cannot play can still help by donating raffle prizes. For details or to register, contact Sydney Mihailoff at (772) 567-8900, ext. 117, or Sydney.Mihailoff@UnitedWayIRC.org.
The tournament highlights what happens when neighbors work together, United Way officials say. Proceeds support immediate needs while building stronger community programs for the future.
United Way of Indian River County is a nonprofit that works to improve health, education and financial stability for local residents.
