Seven candidates are running in this year’s Sebastian City Council election for two open seats. Councilman Ed Dodd seeks re-election, while Mayor Jim Hill will not run for another term.

Among the seven are some very experienced candidates, and some newcomers. And, of course, there is that father/son duo, each running on their own platform.

Sebastian Daily will have its annual city candidate forum at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022. It will be held in the Capt. Hirams Tiffany Room. Indian River County Taxpayers Association is teaming up with us again so that we can offer the public one forum.

If you plan to attend this Friday and would like to have lunch, please RSVP as soon as possible. The cost will be $22 and the options are a Turkey BLT (Regular Lunch), Roasted Vegetable Wrap (Vegetarian) or a Cobb Salad.

Recently, we published our view of the Sebastian City Candidates and provided more information. It’s something we do each year during the month of October.

We’re also taking candidate questions now from the public, which can be emailed to info@sebastiandaily.com. In addition, we are sending out a form to our newsletter subscribers to fill out.

Sebastian Daily will live stream the open forum on our popular YouTube channel and Facebook page. A recorded video of the steam will also be available afterward for viewing.
