Fire burns Pelican Bay manufactured home in Micco

Firefighters put out a blaze Saturday afternoon inside the Pelican Bay community in Micco.

The Brevard County Fire Rescue and Palm Bay Fire Rescue responded to 57 Hope Town Road for a residential structure fire. The home was extensively damaged, and the blaze melted the siding of a home next door.

No injuries were reported. The fire displaced one adult and a pet. The Red Cross was called to assist.

A fire inspector is still investigating the cause of the fire.

Pelican Bay, located south of Barefoot Bay on U.S. Highway 1, is a 55 and older community.
