GRANT — The owners of Rib City at Grant Station, Chris and Judy Pozgar, announced Thursday their decision to put the beloved barbecue restaurant property up for sale, citing personal and staff transitions.
The couple emphasized that the restaurant will remain open, continuing to serve its signature ribs, barbecue, and family-friendly meals.
In a heartfelt letter to customers, the Pozgars shared that the decision follows careful consideration and is driven by changes in their personal lives and among their staff. Several team members are graduating college, one has enlisted in the Air Force, and the general manager is shifting to a more traditional schedule as her child starts school.
The Pozgars, now empty nesters, expressed their desire to travel while in good health.
“Rib City is not closing,” the couple wrote. “Our doors remain open, and we will continue serving the same delicious BBQ, ribs, and family-friendly meals you’ve always counted on.” They also confirmed that the restaurant’s staff will stay on during the transition, expressing gratitude for their loyalty.
Rib City at Grant Station has long served as a gathering place for friends, families, and neighbors. The Pozgars highlighted their appreciation for the memories and support from patrons over the years. Their business has been a community staple for years and is known for its warm atmosphere.
The wedding barn at the property will also remain operational, with the owners looking forward to hosting future celebrations. For now, the restaurant continues its regular operations, maintaining its commitment to quality barbecue.
