SEBASTIAN – Get ready for a hot week in Sebastian as the temperatures rise to 90 degrees.

It’s that time of year, and it’s warming up quick. Tuesday already reached a high of 91 degrees, but the overnight low will be near 69.

There is also a Rip Current advisory until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.

“A High Risk for potentially life-threatening Rip Currents to develop in the surf zone today,” the National Weather Service said in a statement.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will have a high near 90 and an overnight low near 72 degrees. It will be sunny and mostly clear for those days.

The only possible chance of rain is on Sunday, but not enough to interrupt weekend plans at this time.

During the hot days, please do not leave children, elderly adults, or pets in parked vehicles. Studies have shown that the temperature inside a parked car can rapidly rise to a dangerous level. Leaving the windows slightly open does not significantly decrease the heating rate.
