VERO BEACH – The weather, for the most part, is going to be great with only a slight chance of rain for Vero Beach while Sebastian is facing hazardous boating conditions.
Vero Beach will enjoy plenty of sunshine, the hazardous boating conditions in Sebastian is from southeast winds gusting up to 15 to 20 knots over the waterways. Some of the winds will produce seas up to 6 feet.
Boating operators from Sebastian Inlet to Ft. Pierce should exercise caution. The weather conditions is also producing a Moderate Risk of rip currents from now through the weekend. In addition, the surf will be rather rough and choppy.
However, Vero Beach should be aware of dry weather conditions that can spark fires. The combination of gusty east-southeast winds and dry soil is producing a high danger for the spread of any new wildfires or flare-ups of existing smoldering burns.
Burn bans remain in effect in Indian River County.
The biggest concern is on Friday and Saturday afternoons when there’s a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Lightning is a leading cause of wildfires in Florida.
The rain chance increases on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
