There’s another tropical wave, identified as Invest 92L, that’s tracking towards Sebastian, Florida, but current models show there’s no threat to our local area at this time.
“Environmental conditions are expected to become somewhat more favorable for development during the next few days, and a tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to form during that time frame. The system is forecast to move westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph, and it could bring heavy rain to portions of the Leeward Islands by late Wednesday, regardless of development,” the National Hurricane Center said in a statement.
The next name on the list is Isaias.
Forecasters say Invest 92L will soon become a tropical storm within the next few days.
Earlier today, Indian River Emergency Services sent out an alert stating they are monitoring the tropical wave system that’s currently between the Caribbean and Africa.
The National Hurricane Center gives this system a 90% (high) chance of formation during the next five days.
Again, there is no threat to Sebastian or Florida at this time.
