SEBASTIAN – As we continue to watch a low-pressure system in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm development near Sebastian and Vero Beach appears unlikely.
This is the system that we were concerned about since Sunday as it moved northwest at about 15 mph.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the low-pressure system is still far away from Sebastian and Vero Beach, producing only rain and thunderstorms.
The weather system is very disorganized, and the chance of formation is dropping each day.
As of Monday evening, there are unfavorable environmental conditions that should limit the development of this system during the next few days.
However, some minor development is possible by the weekend, producing rain.
The chance of formation during the next 48 hours is 0 percent.
There is only a 20 percent chance of any storm during the next five days.
We will continue to monitor the system and will update if there are any changes, but right now it looks like we’re in the clear.
