Tropical Storm Humberto moving farther away from Florida

Tropical Storm Humberto

The projected path for Tropical Storm Humberto has shifted more to the east since yesterday, but we will still experience breezy conditions in Sebastian, Florida.

Since the forecast track has shifted farther to the east, the chance of heavy rainfall in Sebastian has diminished.

“Fast-moving showers with gusty winds will continue to move across east-central Florida today. Gusts up to 35 mph will be possible. Breezy conditions along the coast along with dangerous beach conditions for inexperienced swimmers,” the National Weather Service said.

Some beaches in Indian River County and Brevard County will be under a Red Flag Warning due to potential high surf and life-threatening rip current hazards. Conditions are expected to continue as Tropical Storm Humberto moves towards Florida.

Local officials are asking everyone to use caution if visiting the beaches and avoid ocean swimming until conditions improve.

The seas near the Sebastian Inlet have been rough since Friday with white caps extending into the river and lagoon.
