Tropical disturbance to move through Sebastian by Friday

We’re monitoring a tropical disturbance that is expected to bring more rain to our area as it moves through Sebastian later in the week.

Further development of the system is not expected as it moves into Florida.

Showers and thunderstorms extending from the eastern Caribbean Sea to just north of the Leeward Islands are associated with a tropical wave.

“This disturbance is expected to move west-northwestward to northwestward across the north central Caribbean Sea during the next few days, producing locally heavy rainfall and possibly some flooding across portions of the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola,” The National Hurricane Center said in a statement.

We will publish more information later this week.
