A chance of strong thunderstorms in Sebastian, Florida.

The weather isn’t looking good for Sunday in Sebastian as a low-pressure system will swing a strong cold front, bringing a risk of multiple strong thunderstorms and winds in the afternoon.

Unless you’re boating, we suggest you don’t cancel any outdoor plans on Sunday unless the weather turns bad. The National Weather Service is only predicting a “risk” of many thunderstorms and winds.

The chance of precipitation is 70%, possibly bringing rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half of an inch.

The winds are the primary concern as this system moves across the state in the afternoon and into Sunday night.

“The primary threat will be strong straight-line winds up to 50 mph with damaging winds around 60 mph possible in a few storms. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out,” the National Weather Service said.

Boating conditions will deteriorate Sunday and remain poor to
hazardous. These conditions will continue through early next week behind the strong cold front.

For Saturday night, the low will be 68, but the temperature will warm up to 80 degrees on Sunday.

The lows for Monday and Tuesday will be in the 40s. The highs will be near 65 degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be the coldest day and night this week.
