The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for Southern Brevard and Central Indian River Counties until 2:30 p.m.
At 1:38 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Blue Cypress Lake, moving northeast at 15 mph. Another storm near the coast around Sebastian was producing frequent lightning.
Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.
The impact locations are in Grant, Micco, Sebastian, and Fellsmere.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle until 2:30 p.m.
