Sebastian will remain hot as rain chance increases

The heat index won’t be as hot this week, reaching 103 compared to 106 last week, but the rain chance increases, according to the National Weather Service.

Boating should be great, except for Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

However, while most of the weather forecasts are showing rain for Friday and Saturday, we don’t think it’s going to happen. We believe the east winds at 5 to 10 mph will push most of the moisture away from us, lowering the chance of rain this weekend.

Also, we live directly across from the Sebastian Inlet, and those east winds keep the rain away from us. That’s why it could be raining in Palm Bay and Vero Beach, but not here in Sebastian. Some people call it a “bubble” that we live in.

We do believe that there will be some rain on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon because of the northwest winds.

Our forecast for Monday is sunny with a high near 91 degrees. No chance of rain. The overnight lows will be near 74 degrees. Isn’t it something how low these temps go at night?

Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 92 degrees. The heat index values may be as high as 102. The winds will be northwest at 5 to 10 mph, which we believe will increase the rain chance for Tuesday afternoon. The overnight low will be around 70 degrees.

Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 90 degrees with a thunderstorm in the afternoon because of the northwest winds. The overnight low will be near 73.

Thursday will be much of the same, but we’re still not sure about the rain. The high will be near 90, overnight low near 75 degrees.

The National Weather Service is forecasting rain on Friday and Saturday. We think it’s too early to predict. We’ll have another forecast later this week, but right now, we don’t think it’s going to rain this weekend. That could change, but only time will tell.

Have a great week everyone!
