Sebastian, Vero Beach Welcomes Sunshine, But More Rain Coming

Historically, more rain in May means less hurricanes.

SEBASTIAN – If the sunshine today was a surprise, it’s the reason we didn’t talk about Wednesday in our weather forecast earlier this week.

The weather has a lot of uncertainty this week, but we got some good news.

Historically, if we get too much rain in May, we have fewer hurricanes. In fact, no storms have hit our area when we have too much rain in May.

Now for the bad news. It’s going to rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We’re still uncertain about Thursday (tomorrow) and Monday.

I’m sure most of us would rather have too much rain right now than a hurricane later in the year.

The highs from now until Sunday will be near 84 degrees. Overnight lows will average 72 degrees.

Stay dry, and enjoy the sunshine today.
