Another cold front this week in Sebastian, Florida.

SEBASTIAN – Last Friday, we dodged a lot of bad weather thanks to stronger southern winds that managed to keep the thunderstorms north of us. All the outdoor activities that were planned resumed without a hitch.

Colder temperatures are expected this week, and rain for Wednesday night and Thursday are likely amid a new cold front.

Sunday will have a high near 73 degrees, with an overnight low near 49.

Monday will be cooler with a high near 69 degrees, overnight lows near 48.

Tuesday will be much of the same with a high near 73 degrees, and overnight lows near 58.

Wednesday will be the warmest with a daytime high of around 76 degrees. The overnight low near 63. There’s a 50 percent chance of rain at night.

Thursday is when things are expected to get worse as another cold front moves into Sebastian. At first, there will be a lot of rain. The temperatures will be 76 degrees during the day and 59 for the overnight.

As the rain moves out on Friday, the morning temperature will be 48 degrees. The daytime temp will be 66. The winds will become the biggest problem coming out of the west at 20 mph with higher gusts.

We need the rain more than anything to help with our moderate drought. Indian River County and South Brevard have missed a lot of rain in recent weeks. While the drought isn’t a big crisis yet, Wednesday night and into Thursday will certainly help if the forecast stays.
