Rain in the forecast through Monday in Sebastian, Vero Beach

SEBASTIAN – The rain made its way to Sebastian, Fellsmere, and Vero Beach Saturday as it heads northward across Florida.

“New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch is possible,” the National Weather Service told Sebastian Daily.

Showers and thunderstorms likely to continue. The radar shows a cluster of storms expected to be in our area before 9 p.m. Chance of precipitation tonight is 70%.

The low for Saturday night will be near 72 degrees.

At this time, 2 p.m. Saturday, entertainment at Captain Hiram’s, Earl’s Hideaway, and the Tiki Bar & Grill is still scheduled. But take an umbrella if you plan to go out in this weather.

The rain will continue on Sunday with a possible thunderstorm in the morning between 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with wind gusts as high as 20 mph. Showers likely for the rest of the afternoon on Sunday. High will be near 83.

Sunday night will have a low near 73 degrees.

We’ll update our forecast on Monday when we believe the chance of precipitation will begin to decrease.

It may be an inconvenience, but we needed all this rain to provide much relief for our drought conditions.
