If the strong winds out of the southeast hold up, we probably won’t see a lot of rain in Sebastian, Florida. However, the National Weather Service (NWS) predicts an 80 percent chance of rain Friday and 60 percent for Saturday.
“New rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half of an inch possible,” NWS said in a statement.
Friday will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the most severe ones after 2:00 p.m. The high will be near 90 degrees with an overnight low of 72. Winds are out of the southeast at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. These strong winds, in our opinion, could keep most of the rain away from Sebastian.
Saturday will be similar to Friday, with showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2:00 p.m. The high will be near 88 degrees, with an overnight low of 72. Stronger winds will continue out of the south at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Again, there’s a big chance that most of the moisture could remain north and south of Sebastian.
Sunday will be partly sunny with only a 30 percent chance of rain, but strong winds continue, this time out of the east at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
It’s still too early to forecast the weather for Monday, but we will have another forecast by Sunday.
