Severe storms predicted tonight in Sebastian, Florida.

A line of severe storms is expected to move through Sebastian this evening ahead of a cold front. The storms will produce rain and lightning throughout the night.

There will be wind gusts from 35 to 40 mph Thursday afternoon and evening prior to the storms hitting.

The storms will produce lightning and will move eastward tonight before sweeping offshore by Friday morning. The winds will be strong.

“A Wind Advisory is in effect this afternoon. Strong southerly winds of 20 to 30 mph with frequent higher gusts of 35 to 40 mph will produce hazardous conditions for boaters on the Intracoastal waters and inland lakes,” the National Weather Service said.

The gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, and snap off small tree limbs.

The cold front will bring the overnight temperature down to 62 degrees, so it’s not going to be too chilly. However, Friday night, we will have a low near 46 degrees.

As severe weather is approaching Sebastian later today, make sure you have your cell phones and other devices fully charged in case of a power outage.
