SEBASTIAN – A freeze warning has been issued in our area as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing until 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

“Overnight low temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s,” the National Weather Service (NWS) told Sebastian Daily.

Portable plants may need to be brought indoors to a warmer location. You may also need to cover sensitive vegetation. Please bring pets inside to be cared for.

The NWS also warns residents of fire hazards with space heaters. Make sure all space heaters are away from all material that may be combustible, such as pillows, blankets, and curtains.

“A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation,” the NWS said.
