Tropical Disturbance in Atlantic

Forecasters in Florida are monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Atlantic as it moves closer to the Caribbean Sea. As of right now, it’s no threat to Sebastian.

As we discussed yesterday during our Sebastian newscast, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is expecting this disturbance to dissipate during the next two days.

“Some additional development of this disturbance is possible over the next couple of days before upper-level winds become less conducive for further organization by Thursday. The system is expected to move westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph,” the NHC said in a statement.

The 2021 Atlantic hurricane season started earlier this month and will end in November. The months of August, September, and October are busy months for the tropics.
