On Thursday, the prosecution played Damien Gilliams’ press conference from April 23, 2020, declaring himself as the new Mayor of Sebastian.
The press conference was held one day after the alleged illegal meeting when Damien Gilliams, Pamela Parris, and Charles Mauti tried to fire the charter staff. They also voted Gilliams as the new Mayor.
The press conference caused an uproar with Sebastian residents as they chanted “lock him up” as he tried to get through his public statement.
