A jumper with Skydive Sebastian missed the Sebastian Municipal Airport and landed in some power lines next to Roseland Road.

We still have a reporter at the scene. Florida Power & Light was called to remove the orange parachute from the power lines.

“There are no injuries to report,” Lt. Timothy Wood, Sebastian Police Department, told Sebastian Daily.

Motorists saw the orange parachute as it dropped near the power lines, missing the airport.

“The sky diver’s parachute landed in some trees. The jumper was not injured, and there is no medical emergency,” Maj. Eric Flowers told Sebastian Daily.

There are times when this happens due to winds and weather conditions. It’s pretty common in Sebastian.

Farther down Roseland Road, on the south side, Florida Power & Light has shut one lane down to repair some power lines. The repairs are not related to the parachute incident. FPL said both lanes should open back up in a few hours.
