SEBASTIAN – On Thursday night shortly after 10:00 p.m., the Sebastian Police Department responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV at the 400 block of Sebastian Blvd.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Edward R. Wheeler, of Sebastian, was operating a blue Cadillac SUV traveling east on Sebastian Blvd., at the same time that Lawrence C. Rubino, and passenger, Teresa G. Calhoun, both of Sebastian, were traveling on a grey Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Sebastian Blvd.
Wheeler made a left turn in the path of Rubino and Calhoun. The front of the SUV made contact with the left side of the motorcycle, causing Rubino and Calhoun to be ejected from the motorcycle .
Rubino was pronounced deceased on scene and Calhoun was transported to Sebastian River Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
Wheeler was treated on scene and released.
Sebastian Police Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing the investigation of the fatal crash.
