Barefoot Bay woman killed in I-95 crash

Officials said 74-year-old Juliette M. Dufault of Barefoot Bay died Friday morning in Prince Georgie County, Virginia.

The Virginia State Police told Sebastian Daily that Dufaut’s SUV ran off Interstate 95 and caught on fire.

Dufault was the only person in the vehicle, officials said. The crash occurred at mile marker 44 at approximately 11: 20 a.m., according to police.

The crash location is about a mile from the Route 301 exit.

According to Sgt. Dylan Davenport of the Virginia State Police, Dufault was driving a Honda SUV southbound on I-95 when the vehicle ran off the road, striking trees and catching fire. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
