Betty Jean Williams passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025—New Year’s Eve—a fitting farewell for a woman who embraced every moment with joy and celebration. Her adventurous spirit shone brightly in her love for her family, traveling, camping, and finding wonder in the world around her.
She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, James Williams; her six children — Angi Brown (Gregg), Don Cloninger, Jim Williams Jr. (Lynn), Ray Williams (Melissa), Tony Williams (Julie), and June Auth (Wes); along with 14 grandchildren and 20 great‑grandchildren who carry her legacy forward. She is also survived by her brother Bob David and sister Lois Carter.
Betty is preceded in death by her son Jeff Cloninger, her sister Barb Sanders, and her parents Everett and Audrey David.
Her passing on a night known for reflection, hope, and celebration beautifully mirrors the way she lived—full of love, laughter, and an enduring zest for life. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
This poem was found in her wallet with a picture of her loving husband:
Until I fell in Love with You: I never dreamed one smile could fill my world with warmth and light, until your smile made ll my days so beautiful and bright. I never thought that love could be this endless, deep, and true, Until the day I gave my heart and all my love to you.
Betty was a lifetime member of the Orioles and VFW auxiliary.
The family has decided to have a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers please donate to the facility that provided Betty with excellent care, The Anne and Donald McGraw Center at Mayo: Give – Community Hospice Foundation.
