Sebastian Inlet State Park has been experiencing periods of temporary closures due to being at maximum capacity with some frequency. However, officials and rangers are doing their best to maintain park operations for the benefit of the general public.
The park continues to operate at reduced capacity per State guidelines and directives. It is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, however closures should be expected.
The McLarty Treasure Museum and the Fishing Museum are currently closed. The current operational schedule will continue until further notice.
Things to do at the Sebastian Inlet State Park
The beautiful slice of paradise offers breathtaking views, swimming, world-class surfing, bird watching, camping, fishing, boating, diving, and concessions.
Wildlife
Wildlife is abundant at the Sebastian Inlet State Park. There is an array of birds, sea turtles, butterflies, and much more to see.
Depending on the season you may see osprey, reddish egret, short-billed dowitchers, and many more. Feel free to pick up a bird list and map upon arrival at the entrance station at the northwest side of the inlet bridge.
Sea turtles nest in the park, and during the summer, you can make reservations for a nighttime tour to observe them.
Butterfly viewing is also popular in the park. While there, look for Mangrove Skipper, Julia Heliconian, Great Southern White, and Oak Hairstreak.
Social Distancing Guidelines
Park officials are asking the public to follow all social distancing guidelines during their visit. Masks or face coverings are strongly recommended.
