The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has compiled a set of guidelines and resources to assist boaters in preparing for and dealing with the effects of these harsh weather conditions.

Boat owners are advised to either relocate their boats to safer locations away from tidal waters if feasible or to reinforce them securely if they must remain in place.

Move your vessel if you can

Cover all lines to prevent chafing

Charge batteries

Do not stay onboard in rough conditions

After the storm, report issues to the FWC
