The Florida 2021 Snook Season in the Atlantic will get underway for recreational harvest on Feb. 1, 2021.

While the season is open at the Sebastian Inlet, it also includes Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), snook are one of the many reasons Florida is the Fishing Capital of the World.

The FWC encourages anglers to carefully handle and release snook you are not going to keep, which helps them survive after being released and helps ensure the species’ abundance.

You can learn more by visiting the fish handling page from the FWC website. The page includes how-to videos and more.

Happy fishing!
