VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Heritage Center and Citrus Museum is introducing the Heritage Bluegrass Music Series, a new initiative bringing free, high-energy bluegrass performances.
The series kicks off on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with concerts continuing on the third Wednesday of each month from November through May, with each concert running from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Following the performances, an open jam session from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM will invite amateur bluegrass musicians and enthusiasts to join in the fun.
The event, located at 2140 14th Avenue in Vero Beach, will feature Ian Lane and Southern Flavor, a band that has performed at the Grand Ole Opry twice. Future concerts will showcase a talented lineup of Florida-based bluegrass bands, including Penny Creek Band, Southern Express, True Grittz, The Flattlanders, Grateful Dawg Tribute, and IBMA Showcase band Remedy Tree, with one additional artist to be announced.
“The historic Vero Beach Heritage Center is the perfect backdrop for these free concerts, and we can’t wait to share the joy of bluegrass with everyone,” said Leslie McKenzie, Executive Director of the Vero Beach Heritage Center.
General admission is free, with a limited number of reserved seats available for $20. Attendees can also participate in 50/50 raffles at each event, with all proceeds supporting local school music programs. The series aims to enrich Vero Beach’s cultural scene, promote local talent, and nurture the next generation of musicians.
