Event Descriptions
Get ready for family fun at the Indian River County Firefighters’ Fair, March 13-22, with magic tricks from TJ Hill, wildlife shows by Jimmy Riffle, country tunes from the Bellamy Brothers, kids’ firefighter training, Danny Grant’s comedy rodeo, Paul Bunyan lumberjack skills, a demo derby, and the Bull Bash rodeo.
TJ Hill Magician
Pittsburgh native TJ Hill has entertained U.S. audiences for over 20 years with high-energy shows blending comedy, music, and illusions like floating spectators and vanishing objects. “The Magic Man” was voted Magician of the Year in 2016 by the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Fresh from TV and media spots, Hill heads east this summer for 250 gigs at 30 fairs and festivals — where even Christina Aguilera, Alec Baldwin and the Black Eyed Peas got “Ma-jished.”
Firefighters Training Show
The Firefighter Training Show fuses fun with real-world lessons on heroism and safety, turning curious youngsters into pint-sized pros at fighting imaginary blazes. Audience volunteers — mostly wide-grinning children — suit up as trainee firefighters for hands-on drills that mix laughs, learning, and light thrills, all under the watchful eye of veteran performers who stress fire prevention without ever dousing the excitement.
Scales, Tails, and Teeth
Wildlife wrangler Jimmy Riffle, the gravelly-voiced “Gator Boys” star from Animal Planet, will bring his high-octane “Scales, Tails, and Teeth” roadshow to the Indian River County Firefighters’ Fair. He will be unleashing a parade of snapping alligators, coiling snakes, and exotic reptiles for hands-on thrills that double as conservation crash courses.
Bellamy Brothers
Brothers Howard and David Bellamy shot to stardom in the 1970s with their breezy pop smash “Let Your Love Flow” and went on to rack up a decade of dominance, including 10 No. 1 country singles that remain to echo on airwaves. The Florida-bred duo is behind some of country’s catchiest crossover anthems. Even now, pushing 80, the Bellamy Brothers keep the road dusty with unrelenting tours, proving their easygoing harmonies — think “Feelin’ the Feelin'” and “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me” — age like fine bourbon. Tickets start at $25 per person.
Bellamy Brothers Opening Acts
The Bellamy Brothers’ opening acts include local favorite James Holler and Carl Ownes and his band Whiskey Trip.
Sebastian’s own James Holler is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter with a gift for ’90s and early-2000s country. He strums originals and crowd-pleasers at local spots like Capt Hirams Resort, Tiki Bar & grill and Waldo’s.
Fort Pierce-raised Carl Owens fronts the five-piece honky-tonk band Whiskey Trip, inspired by local legend Gary Stewart’s rowdy tune of the same name. Shifting from church gospel to country crooning, the single singer leads a Treasure Coast crew (Sebastian to Stuart) through hard-driving sets of harmonies and impromptu jams. Hailed as Florida’s top act since 2021, Whiskey Trip has opened for Deana Carter, Mark Chesnutt, Eli Young Band, Tracy Byrd, David Lee Murphy, and Shenandoah.
Cowboy Circus
Cowboy comedian Danny Grant’s “Comedy Rodeo Experience” is a fun, interactive stage show for all ages, blending bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and quick-witted humor alongside audience volunteers dodging foam bulls and racing wobbly props for plenty of family laughs.
Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show
The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show is a lively, family-friendly show that mixes history, humor, and audience participation. For more than 28 years, the performance has entertained crowds at logging shows and sports events with speed-sawing, log-rolling, axe-throwing, and plenty of laughs with help from volunteers.
Demo Derby
The demolition derby will get things rolling on March 15, packing the fairgrounds with crowds for crashing cars and high-energy. Drivers pay $40 to enter sedans under light build, MWFA, or front-wheel-drive compact rules, competing for a $1,000 prize amid flying sparks. Admission is $5, letting families watch the action from the stands.
Bull Bash Rodeo
The Bull Bash Rodeo will be held on March 22nd in the Livestock Pavilion at the Indian River County Firefighters’ Fair. Gates open at 2:00 pm, and the show begins at 4:00 pm. It will feature bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, and whip demos for family fun. Tickets start at $10 per person at the gate.
The Indian River County Fairgrounds are located at 7955 58th Ave in Vero Beach. For more details about the fair, check out the Indian River County Firefighters Fair website.
