The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County, through the generosity of the Bernard Egan Foundation and Girard Equipment, silver-level sponsors, will host the Rail Trail 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, January 18th at 8:00 a.m. at the Fellsmere Trailhead Preserve in Fellsmere, Florida.

Participants will be part of the second annual 5K run across the I-95 Central Railroad Corridor Greenway Pedestrian Overpass. The 12-foot wide bridge connects the North County Regional Park and the Fellsmere Trailhead Preserve and is the feature of the Executive Roundtable’s first annual 5K run/walk.

This event helps support the mission of the Executive Roundtable of IRC to identify solutions that will protect and enhance the lives of Indian River County residents and their families, with an emphasis on children.

The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County is a group of executive-level community leaders from the school system, law enforcement, government, and social service organizations. Their meetings are held the last Thursday morning of each month at the United Way of Vero Beach.

The Executive Roundtable has focused its efforts on bringing Kids at Hope to Indian River County. Kids at Hope is a national concept that inspires, empowers and transforms schools, youth-serving organizations, and entire communities to create an environment and culture where all children experience success, NO EXCEPTIONS!

The Executive Roundtable is also the sole sponsor of the Superintendent’s Art Gallery, an annual event hosted by the Indian River County School District, which celebrates and encourages the fine arts programs in the School District of Indian River County.

Thanks to the success of the inaugural Rail Trail 5K in 2019, the Executive Roundtable is awarding grants of up to $2,000 each, to community non-profits that serve children and families.

The deadline to apply is February 7, 2020.
