VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is investigating a double homicide that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots around 7:01 a.m. in the area of 16th Avenue and 21st Street, police said.
When they arrived, they found a man and a woman dead at a home at the 1600 block of 21st Street. Their names are being withheld until family members are notified.
Crime scene investigators and detectives remain at the scene gathering evidence.
Police said there is no threat to the public. They asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the Vero Beach Police Department.
