SEBASTIAN — A Sebastian woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic dispute and slashing all four tires on his truck, authorities said.
Briana Marie Eggert faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in a domestic violence case and criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred Monday evening at the victim’s residence in Sebastian. Deputies responded around 5:39 p.m. to reports of a stabbing and found the victim with a one-inch cut on his right knee and a swollen left bicep. All four tires on the victims’ white Toyota Tacoma were flattened, deputies said.
According to the arrest report, the altercation began on the screened front porch when the victim admitted to sleeping with an ex-girlfriend during a period of separation in their on-and-off relationship. Eggert became enraged, punched the victim in the face and pulled out a larger bronze pocket knife, which he knocked away, the report states.
Eggert, 37, then produced a second small folding knife and attempted to stab the victim multiple times, striking his bicep and knee while he was on the ground, according to authorities. After the victim released her, Eggert walked to his truck and slashed the tires before fleeing in her silver Toyota 4Runner.
Deputies located Eggert’s vehicle on 85th Street and detained her. She told deputies the argument was verbal and stemmed from suspected cheating, but denied using a knife or intending to harm the victim, the report said. Eggert mentioned carrying multiple knives for personal protection.
Eggert was booked into the Indian River County Jail and released on $70,000 bond.
