One person shot at McDonald’s restaurant on County Road 512

Maj. Eric Flowers told Sebastian Daily that deputies were called about a shooting behind the McDonald’s restaurant near Vero Lake Estates. Witnesses said the shooting occurred near 107th Avenue.

Flowers said there were four people in a car that was struck. The remaining three occupants were reportedly uninjured.

As deputies canvassed the area at approximately 1:30 a.m., they found a vehicle in a ditch on 108th Avenue with multiple gunshots. One 19-year-old victim was injured in the shooting. Three other people inside the vehicle were uninjured.

Flowers said that the investigation showed that the gunshots were fired along 107th Avenue.

Battalion Chief Roger Dion said the shooting victim was transported to a local hospital to treat his injuries.

Dion said the injuries are serious, but the victim is stable.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the shooting. At this time, there have been no arrests.
