One Arrest During Fellsmere Drug House Raid

A Fellsmere drug house was swarmed by the Indian River County Sheriff’s SWAT Team on Wednesday around 7 p.m. In serving the warrant at 1008 Vernon St., they arrested Wendell Lamont Bass, 51.

Bass’s charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, felony trafficking of cocaine, possession of Oxycodone, felony sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, and possession of a firearm/ammo/electric devices by a convicted felon.

The weapons collected from the residence during the search included a Ruger 9mm semi-auto pistol with the serial number removed, a magazine with a .40 caliber bullet, .45 caliber bullets, and a magazine for the 9mm.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia confiscated include a digital scale, 3.6 grams of marijuana, .6 grams of cocaine, 14 Oxycodone 30 mg pills totaling 1.5 grams, and a bag of smaller baggies with 49.6 grams of cocaine. Bass is no stranger to law enforcement; he is a six-time convicted felon in Florida. He is currently locked up at the Indian River County Jail. His bond has been set at $121,000.

Only one other person lives at this residence and was not home at the time of the raid. There has been no word as to if they will also face charges.
