DAYTONA BEACH — An 11-year-old boy was arrested after posting a threat on TikTok to shoot up his middle school, authorities said.
Jesse McIntyre was taken into custody Saturday following an FBI tip about the online comment, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. The post targeted Campbell Middle School in Daytona Beach and included mentions of specific staff members.
Deputies went to McIntyre’s home, where they confirmed he had no access to weapons. He was then transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center for processing.
Sheriff’s officials released video footage showing the boy being escorted in handcuffs during the arrest. No further details about the threat or potential charges were immediately available.
The arrest occurs amid growing worries about school threats in Florida, but officials emphasized that the case posed no immediate risk.
