Volunteers needed in Vero Beach for beach project.

VERO BEACH – On Saturday, January 13th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service, Keep Indian River Beautiful is coordinating over 100 volunteers to restore the Jaycee Beach Dune habitat.

Thanks to Keep America Beautiful & Anheuser Busch’s Natural Disaster Grant along with a Think Green Grant from Waste Management and their collaboration with the City and County, they have enough money to begin the project.

It was completely obliterated by Hurricane Matthew and again by Hurricane Irma. They are hoping to get 100 volunteers to help re-plant the Hurricane ravaged dune at Jaycee Beach.

This service project is a great way to help save the sea turtles by stopping light pollution, be active in the community and environment, and meet new people who care about our town.

If you can not attend and you would like to donate $10, $15, $25 or more to help fund more plants and finish the whole quarter-mile stretch of beach go to the project’s website.
