VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Police Department will sponsor Beard for Babies as a way to fundraise for March of Dimes.

“I view this fundraising opportunity with the March of Dimes as a win-win,” Vero Beach Police Chief David Currey said in a statement. “Our officers have the chance to grow a clean, professional beard while raising funds for such a worthy cause.”

Funds raised will help support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs and advocacy efforts for stronger, healthier babies.

The most urgent infant health problem in the U.S. today is premature birth. The March of Dimes is committed to preventing it by funding research to find the answers to problems that continue to threaten the health of babies.

If you want to help police officers in Vero Beach, join them for March for Babies on May 6, 2017 at Riverside Park. Hundreds of families and business leaders will join together in the celebration.
