SEBASTIAN – The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Teddy Floyd, who is very popular in the community, was placed on paid administrative leave on June 1, 2019.

According to Major Eric Flowers, the Indian River County sheriff’s spokesperson, an outside complaint was launched against Floyd.

There’s little information to go on at this time because Floyd is under investigation, and Flowers would not comment further about the complaint.

Sheriff Deryl Loar said it is standard procedure to place an officer on leave whenever there’s an external complaint. Loar said he hopes to have the matter resolved by Thursday or Friday.

Sebastian Daily will continue to monitor the investigation and will update when more information is available.

UPDATE: We will have more information and facts tomorrow.

Here’s a video showing Teddy Floyd with Sebastian Daily last year for Christmas in July at Riverview Park.
