SEBASTIAN — The City of Sebastian will host its first-ever Kids Festival next month, offering families a free day of outdoor fun, including a fishing clinic, games, and educational activities at Riverview Park.
The Sebastian Kids Festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park along the Indian River at 600 U.S. Highway 1. Organizers describe it as a brand-new event aimed at the whole family, featuring attractions such as rides, inflatables, face painting, and educational booths on topics including conservation and local wildlife.
Anglers for Conservation is a contributing partner for this event, hosting a kids fishing clinic to teach young participants about angling and environmental stewardship. The group, focused on youth fishing education, has partnered with the city to bring the event to life.
Don’t forget to register for the Fishing Clinic; you can do that online by going here!
City officials expect the festival to draw locals and visitors alike, building on Sebastian’s reputation for family-oriented events like its annual fine art and music festival and ShrimpFest. Riverview Park, with its playgrounds and waterfront access, provides an ideal spot for the activities.
For more details or to volunteer, contact Lisa Phillips at the city at (772) 255-4568 or lphillips@cityofsebastian.org. The event is part of Sebastian’s lineup of signature community happenings, which also includes a Halloween costume contest later in October and holiday light displays in December.
