SEBASTIAN — As America prepares to mark 250 years of independence, two longtime Sebastian organizations are giving local students a chance to design a piece of the community’s July 4 celebration.
The Sebastian Lions Club and Sebastian Masonic Lodge #232 have teamed up for a new art competition tied to this year’s Freedom Festival. The winning design will appear on the back of the official 2026 Freedom Festival T-shirt and on the front cover of the festival program. The student artist will also receive a $500 cash prize.
Entries must celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday and include the insignias of both Lions International and the Masons. Designs need to be in full color and should complement the sky-blue background of the T-shirts.
The contest is open to any student who lives in Sebastian, regardless of the school they attend. Submissions are due by March 31.
Artwork can be emailed to LionSharonOrtiz@hotmail.com or mailed to: Sebastian Lions, P.O. Box 180411, Sebastian, FL 32958.
The Freedom Festival on July 4 will bring the community together to honor the historic milestone.
