Boy Scouts Troops 505, 4545, and Cub Scout Pack 589 will be out Saturday, November 2, 2024, placing door hangers in neighborhoods in their Council area to spread the word about Scouting for Food Drive.
Scouting for Food is the largest annual community service project hosted by the Gulf Stream Council. Each year, they collect more than
150,000 pounds of food for locals in need.
Members of our community are asked to fill bags and place them in a
visible location on the morning of Saturday, November 9, 2024, and the Scouts will be by to collect it.
The Scout will then deliver the collected items to local food pantries.

- Powdered Milk
- Cereal
- Dry Goods
- Non-Perishable Items
The Gulf Stream Council: Empowering Youth Through Scouting
Founded in 1914, the Gulf Stream Council serves over 4,500 Scouts and 2,500 adult volunteers across seven counties in southeast Florida: Indian River, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Glades, Okeechobee, and Hendry.
Scouting is a year-round educational program that fosters character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness through fun, adventure, service, achievement, and leadership training.
Through a variety of activities, such as camping, canoeing, hiking, sailing, community service projects, and more, Scouting builds character and strengthens communities. These hands-on experiences instill confidence, preparedness, and honor in young people.
Contrary to popular belief, Scouting is inclusive. In addition to traditional programs for boys and young men, the Council offers Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA programs for young women, as well as Venturing and Exploring programs specifically designed for young women and men ages 13-20.
