INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Library System is rolling out a fresh look for its library cards and is calling on residents to submit designs that capture the essence of the community.
The contest, themed “Beautiful Indian River County,” encourages participants to highlight what makes the area special, whether it’s the natural beauty, vibrant community, warm hospitality, or another unique aspect.
Open to all Indian River County residents and students, the contest welcomes entries from artists of all ages. Participants are encouraged to use crayons, paint brushes, watercolors, or any medium to express their vision. Submissions will be accepted through November 1, 2025. All submissions will be judged by a panel of local art and education professionals.
“We want our library cards to reflect the heart of our community,” said Elizabeth Stenger, director of the Indian River County Library System. “Art, libraries, and community go hand-in-hand, and we’re excited to see how our patrons showcase what makes Indian River County beautiful.”
The contest is divided into three categories: Kids (12 and under), Teens (17 and under), and Adults (18 and older). Each participant may submit one entry, either online at or in person at any library branch, including North County in Sebastian, Brackett at Indian River State College Mueller Campus in Vero Beach, or the Main Library in downtown Vero Beach.
Winners in each category will be honored at an award ceremony, with prizes awarded to the top designs. Full contest details and guidelines are available on the library’s website.
