On Saturday, Sebastian residents enjoyed Riverview Park for Celebrate Sebastian. The celebration was more significant than expected.
“It was bigger than I expected,” Event organizer Dan Johnson told Sebastian Daily. Johnson, the CEO of Hidden Sanctuary Village, said there might be another Celebrate Sebastian next year.
Sebastian Daily handed out free masks, hand sanitizers, and other items near the park’s north entrance. When not social distancing, most people wore face masks.
The Sebastian River High School band opened up the celebration and did a fantastic job. They sounded great on the stage. The other bands that performed included Greg & Brian, Calvary Chapel, and Hired Guns.
There was plenty of food available from Woody’s BBQ, the Cajun Kitchen, Iannuzzo’s Pizza, kettle corn, and cotton candy.
The kids enjoyed face painting and the dunk tank. Some of the dunk tank volunteers were Sebastian Mayor Ed Dodd, and council members Chris Nunn and Fred Jones.
