VERO BEACH – Sebastian and Vero Beach has some of the cheapest prices for gasoline in the state right now, but they are expected to rise this week after last week’s lowest prices of the year, according to AAA.
For the first time in five weeks, the national average gas price is increasing, adding 3 cents to the pump this week in Sebastian and Vero Beach.
Florida has a statewide average of $2.14, while the national average is $2.26.
The slow price surge follows a week of solid demand growth and a third straight week of gasoline inventory drawdowns across the country.
“Gas prices are still at some of the cheapest prices we’ve seen this year, but consumers should take advantage of them while they can,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. “This week, drivers in 31 states are paying more than last week for a gallon of gas. And we expect to see slight price increases throughout July, so now’s the time to hit the road.”
In Sebastian, gas prices have been low at Walmart, Cumberland Farms, and Speedway.
Vero Beach has some of the same prices at Walmart and Cumberland Farms, as well as Citgo.
However, these prices fluctuate, and some gas station might have a lower price than others in the coming days.
Prices are still good, and Indian River County is still one of the best areas to buy gas in the state.
The prices are about the same from Melbourne to Vero Beach, but then they begin to rise as you head south.
The cost at the pump is still comfortable, so don’t panic. Rising prices doesn’t mean we need to rush to fill up.
